November 2007

Day 10 of 11

Two more days before our world premiere festival will be closing down. Yesterday night in the Filmmakers Lounge, it already started to feel like the wrap party of a movie production: Farewell wishes, hugs, and kisses, promises to stay in touch - the 2007 festival family breaking up, to hopefully meet again on the circuit, or with new works in years to come.

Our publicist Anne Stulz of David Magdael & Associates, and Shannon Dunn, AFI Fest's Filmmaker Press Liason: two fabulous and hard working women who made all of us shine. Thank you!

The light turned gray

The lights in the program guide turned from green to red to gray: Past. But there's so much to see at the AFI Fest, and I just can't get enough. Check out the pictures that were sent in from LindA and Brad, Tim, and Grant. More will be added soon.

LindA in L.A.

LindA and Brad came in from NYC yesterday afternoon,  and we immediately took over the swanky and air conditioned Audi lounge and had fun. David looks a bit worried, for good reason: Someguy and I were scheduled for even more interviews and running late. Besides, we were quite noisy in there!

Today's the day... Ralph and I have a projection check date at 11:00 AM, Someguy and I have a few more press interviews, we'll all meet for the red carpet and Getty image photo sessions at 6:30 PM, and at 9:15 PM, we'll premiere the movie...

Ready, set, go

Someguy, Ralph and I went to the gala opening of the AFI Fest last night, and escorted by David Magdael, walked down the red carpet. Smile left, smile right, step and repeat. The festival kicked-off with a number of speeches, and Robert Redford's Lions For Lambs, a rather timid film about inertia and the war.

Ralph must have come home  from the opening party pretty late. He emailed us at 1:41 AM that our box office light had turned red: rush line tickets only! We are nearly sold out.

I'm on my way out to the Filmmakers' Welcome brunch...
